Job Summary

CMM Programmer Level III creates CMM or VCMM programs in accordance with ASME Y14.5, UMC Best Practice Metrology Standards, and requirements specified in IQS inspection plans. Position is responsible for developing and documenting automated metrology related practices, and maintaining availability, accuracy, and revision control of all programs generated.

Essential Functions

The primary duties and responsibilities of the CMM/VCMM Programmer III consist of but are not limited to:

·  Generation of advanced level complexity programs

·  Provide advanced level troubleshooting support to resolve metrology / manufacturing related issues

·  Identify and lead metrology related continuous improvement initiatives

·  Coordinate and implement introduction of metrology related software & hardware

·  Develop, document, and training regarding UMC Best Practice Metrology Standards

·  Mentoring and training for all CMM support staff

Qualifications

·  High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree - preferred

·  Advanced Programming training on any CMM / VCMM platform

·  5 -7 years of experience programming a major CMM / VCMM platform

·  3-5 years working in a manufacturing or quality related field within a AS9001, ISO13485, or TS 16969 environment

·  Completion of an advanced level GD&T training coarse

·  7+ years working in a precision metrology environment

·  ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector certification – preferred

·  CNC machining experience - preferred

Accountabilities

·  Communicate issues and exceptions in meeting requirements

·  Completion of scheduling and Vantage transaction activities

·  Completion of programs in accordance with established schedule

·  Ensuring changes made to programs are processed in accordance with UMC change control practices and requirements

·  Ensure programs are generated in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and UMC Best Practice Metrology Standards

·  Ensure resolution of inspection, data collection, and documentation issues impacting Quality & Operations efforts

·  Establishing best practice metrology practices

·  Interprets and mediates conflicts regarding ASME Y14.5 requirements

Competencies

·  Advanced understanding of GD&T

·  Advanced understanding of automated metrology practices

·  Understanding of probe / sensor calibration theory

·  Intermediate to advanced understanding of Measurement Systems Analysis practices and principals

·  Basic to intermediate understanding of SPC & basic statistical methods

·  Basic trigonometry & algebra skills

·  Proficiency in MS Word & Excel

·  Good communication skills both verbal and written

·  Work independently with minimum instructions

·  Knowledge and experience using formal Project Management techniques to execute effectively and efficiently

·  Excellent time management skills
