Job description – Member Services Officer
Job Purpose:To assist with the delivery of effective services to members within the membership team.
Responsible to:Member Services Manager
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Member Services Officer is responsible for helping to maintain accurate membership data and dealing with members via a range of communication tools (telephone, e mails and post)as appropriate.
Specific duties include:
- Communicating with members on a daily basis via email, telephone and or post for any enquiriesregarding the membership benefits and services provided by IIRSM
- Using and updating member details held on our database and ensuring they are coordinated with our website.
- Process applications fromnew members, renewals, Fellowship petitionsand upgrades (including Fellowship applications) accurately and to specific deadlines
- Processing and banking all payments from members and updating the database
- Weekly reconciliations
- Ensuring all membership filing is kept up-to-date
- Assisting on events or conferences as and when necessary (may include an overnight stay)
- Assisting in generating new business leads in liaison with Marketing and Events team
- Processing incoming and outgoing IIRSM post
General duties include:
- Occasional participation (to cover holidays / sickness or during periods of high volume of workload) in the production of all data for IIRSM stakeholders
- Any other administrative tasks
Person specification:
Essential:
- Experience of using database
- Experience in working within aa Membership focussed professional body
- You must be a good face-to-face and telephone communicator with good written and spoken English.
- You must be numerate with good attention to detail and good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks
- You must be team orientated but able to use your own initiative when necessary;
- You must have good keyboard skills and be computer literate with experience of using Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- A flexible approach to fit with changing conditions, tasks and responsibilities , as well as an understanding of the pressures of the not-for-profit sector.
- Some experience of book-keeping
Hours:09:00 to 17:00 with one hour for lunch
