VI.Office Report:Janis R, Director

1) Donations continue to help our office function to the fullest extent. The individual contributions, as well as our group support are making a huge difference. Thank you all for helping. Any of you that have signed up as a Faithful Fiver, we have a little thank you for supporting us. Carrie will give you the gift.

2)We have flyers on the table for our events in October as well as a new workshop for November 14th on ADA in AA. In addition to the events and workshop there are flyers on ADA in AA and Service Animals for you to take back to your group. Ashley will tell you more about our Anniversary in her report. Please let your group know about the upcoming events. After doing some of the free inspections it has become clear that some of our fellowship is not aware of what we can and cannot do about service animals as well as how we can reduce the barriers to our groups so that all members have access to A.A.

4)We also have tickets for sale at the office for those of you that prefer an actual ticket as opposed to a receipt. All proceeds for the benefit will go to the DIA/Central Office thanks to some very good friends with a lot of talent! This is for the Joy of Living event.

5) We will be working on a new Safety in AA Workshop with the area. Once we firm up the date and panel members I will provide more information. Prosper Group did a fantastic job on hosting the last one in August but unfortunately two of the panel members were not in attendance so we were asked to help with another one. Considering the turnout it there is considerable interest in the topic. There will be plenty of time for Q&A at this workshop.

6)We have a new opportunity to take meetings to the Salvation Army Adult Rehab on Harry Hines that just opened up this week. The new management is very excited and supportive of A.A. meetings. We talked to the new team for quite awhile and they are open to meetings every night except Tuesdays after 8pm.Groups should contact Ralph S.

•Two board members (Ed L. and Ralph S.) and Janis attended a Legacy Workshop and it was a huge turnout and success.

•Thanked all the Intergroup reps for their service.

Office Report: Carrie (Assistant Director)

•Donations were great last month. The best we have seen in years. Thanks to all the groups who have gone out of their way to support us as well as individuals. It enabled us to catch up with inventory and order when we needed to rather than having to wait. It is a lot less stress at least for now. With sustained support we can continue to grow and expand our programs. We are working on a new workshop to inform groups of what they can and cannot do according to the ADA regulations. Hopefully this will be in conjunction with NETA if possible. We are just not reaching our Special Needs members, so this will be an informational workshop on the misconceptions and lack of information on ADA regulations. One such example: refusing to allow a service dog and hence the member, into a meeting facility.

•The August issue of the DIAlog is available to you. Please take some back to your group. It was not an easy job to put one together after our editor Andrea, died so suddenly last month, but we managed. There are also flyers for our events in October.

•As most of you know we did have to raise the price of our hard back Big Book to New York prices, $9.50. We kept it at $9.00 for as long as we could, and probably a little longer than was wise. We also had to increase bronze medallions by $0.25 each and aluminum chips by $0.10 each. We have not increased these prices in years although they go up every year and the latest increase in July left us little choice.

•We will have a table at the North Texas Roundup Friday and Saturday. We will be closed for speakers and we will not be open Sunday. Also we can get panels for workshops on Chairing, Sponsorship, etc. if you need them.

Committees Reports:

•CPC/PI – Mickey - nothing to report

•Treatment: Ralph - last month we received 3 requests from FW central office

•Jails/Judicial/CFC – Ed L. - nothing to report

•Nightwatch/12 Step Initiative – Josh K. - Contact me if you would like to get on the list for Nightwatch if you are not already; we are filling the spots every month.

•Special Events/Participation – Ashley A. - Come see me if you would like to help take flyer packets to your local surrounding groups and/or help setup the event on October 17th. Flyers are available and we will be bringing more to your groups.

•Newsletter – Janis is planning the next newsletter.

•Special Needs – Mike D. - nothing to report

•Speaker Bureau - Greg L. - nothing to report

•Convention Outreach/Volunteers - Dave R. - announced Joy of Living Benefit Fundraiser Concert.
