Main Purpose of the Role / To provide operational management for endorsements within the Professional Development team to oversee various strands of the department such as quality assurance, evaluations, sales and Training Provider technical support.
Management
- Oversee and take responsibility for the overall running of the endorsement systems and processes for all sectors
- Manage and oversee the quality assurance policy and process for endorsement e.g. ensuring policies and procedure are adhered to
- Support the Head of Professional Development to drive the growth of the departments strategic business plan and overall goals
- Work with the Marketing Team to ensure endorsement marketing plans are compliant and executed appropriately by those responsible
- As required ensure appropriate delivery and execution of new commercial partnership products or programmes
Account Management and Sales
- Manage and meet agreed endorsement sales targets
- Oversee the account management of all strategically key provider accounts
- To actively seek B2B business development opportunities
Technical
- To take responsibility for creating and publishing technical documentation and ensuring that it is up to date and factually correct at all times
- Implement new systems and processes for endorsement as required within sectors as well as streamlining current ones
- Take full responsibility to ensure accurate content relating to endorsement is published on the SkillsActive website (content only)
- Take responsibility and respond appropriately to all complaints and appeals
- Deliver SkillsActive in house training programmes to endorsed providers to fulfil endorsement criteria
- As required develop, present, promote and share endorsement publications and promotional materials to relevant stakeholders
- Supporting Higher Education Institutions through the endorsement process
- From time to time externally quality assure endorsed providers as required
- Manage all relevant budgets within agreed cost centres and take overall responsibility for budgetary control
- Act as the management lead and take responsibility for actions of the Endorsement Panel with the support of the Endorsement officer
- Line manage all relevant staff and work with HR to ensure people management policies are adhered to, within areas of responsibility including recruitment, learning and development, absence management, performance management and employee relations matters
- Oversee and manage the Skills Active in house database Sales Force to ensure all staff comply with maintaining up to date client information
Other and special conditions
- Ability to travel around the UK which could require overnight accommodation

Qualifications
- Degree Qualified with evidence of continual professional development
- Tutor, Assessor and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification or equivalent essential
Experience
- Proven experience of working within quality assurance and a standards setting role in a commercially driven environment
- Proven success in achieving business growth and successfully delivered business plans and delivering business objectives
- Experience of multi-agency and multi discipline partnership working
- Experience of working with employers and awarding organisations to maximise commercial activity
- Management level operational experience within a commercial organisation
- Experience of managing cross disciplinary teams to encourage effective team working and promoting efficiency
- Budget and business contract management experience
Skills/Aptitude
- A comprehensive demonstrative understanding of the Active Leisure industry, qualifications, importance of Continued Professional Developmentwithin our sectors and Quality Assurance structures
- An understanding of the skills priorities of the leading employers across the Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being sector (Desirable)
- Entrepreneurial flair with ability to foresee and action commercial opportunities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly proficient IT skills using a range of software packages including word processing, powerpoint, spread sheets and web technology
- Ability to externally quality assure endorsed providers
