POSTGRADUATE, UNDERGRADUATE AND DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to pursue the following courses commencing in SEPTEMBER 2010. The programmes will be mounted at JKUAT Nakuru Campus located at Kwanza House in the Central Business District of Nakuru.
COURSE TITLE / QUALIFICATION / DURATION & PATTERN1. Ph.D. in Human Resource Management (HRM) / i) Be a holder of Masters degree in Human Resource Management from JKUAT or its equivalent from a recognized university OR
ii) Be a holder of a Masters degree in a relevant discipline with a Human Resource option from JKUAT or its equivalent from a recognized university provided such candidates shall have passed the pre-requisite course units at the Masters level. / 3 years programme with 1 ½ yr course work, which will be offered only on week-ends at the Nakuru Campus.
2. Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship / i) Be a holder of Masters degree in Entrepreneurship from JKUAT or its equivalent from a recognized university OR
ii) Be a holder of a Masters degree in a relevant discipline from JKUAT or its equivalent from a recognized university provided such candidates shall have passed the pre-requisite course units at the Masters level. / 3 years programme with 1 ½ yr course work, which will be offered only on week-ends at the Nakuru Campus.
3. PHD in Business Administration / i) Be a holder of Masters degree in Business Administration from JKUAT or its equivalent from a recognized university OR
ii) Be a holder of a Masters degree in a relevant discipline in any one Business Administration option from JKUAT or its equivalent from a recognized university. Holders of Executive degree programmes do not qualify. / 3 years programme with 1 ½ yr course work, which will be offered only on week-ends at the Nakuru Campus.
1. Master of Science in Entrepreneurship
2. Master of Science in Human Resource Management
3. Master of Science in Procurement & Logistics
4. Master of Business Administration (MBA) / i) Bachelors degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent from a recognized university
ii) Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class Honours plus at least three years relevant experience
iii) Bachelors degree with pass plus at least five years relevant postgraduate experience / 2 Years Full-time
OR
2 Years Part-time (Weekdays - evenings from 5 pm and Saturdays) OR (Saturdays and Sundays at the Nakuru campus
1. Master of Science in ICT Policy and Regulation / i) Bachelors degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent from a recognized university
ii) Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class Honours plus at least three years relevant experience
iii) Bachelors degree with pass plus at least five years relevant postgraduate experience / 2 Years Full-time OR
2 Years Part-time (Weekdays - evenings from 5 pm and Saturdays) OR (Saturdays and Sundays at the main campus
1. Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) / i) A Bachelors degree or
ii) Professional qualifications – CPA,CFA,ACCA, Higher National Diploma
iii) Plus 3 years working experience in a senior management position / 1 Year Part-time (Weekdays - evenings from 5 pm and Saturdays)
1. Master of Science In Occupational Safety & Health( MSc. OSH) / i) BSc. degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours in Agricultural, Engineering and Applied/physical/Biological Sciences, from University/Institution recognized by JKUAT Senate.
ii) A holder Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class Honours in the subject areas listed in (i) above provided the candidate has research experience as evidenced by relevant publications.
iii) A holder of an equivalent qualification as in (ii) above of any other University or Institution recognized by University Senate. / 2 years full time
OR
2 year part-time on Saturdays and Sundays / Weekdays – evenings from 5pm)
1. Post graduate Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health / (i) A bachelors Degree in Science Discipline
(ii) Higher National Diploma in Science discipline
(iii) At least two years of practical experience at professional of managerial level in the field of health and safety / 9 months full time or part-time(Weekdays – evenings from 5 pm and Saturdays)
1. Bachelor of Purchasing and Suppliers Management
2. Bachelor of Science -Human Resource Management
3. Bachelor of Science – Entrepreneurship
4. Bachelor of Commerce
5. Bachelor of Business Information Technology
6. Bachelor of Science in IT / i) Be a holder of KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C in both Mathematics and English.
ii) Be a holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass, and a minimum of a credit pass in Mathematics at KCE,
iii) Be a holder of diploma or professional certificate in a relevant discipline from an institution recognised by the University Senate.
iv) Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above.
v) In addition to the above, diploma in IT or Computer Technology may also be considered for BSc. IT / 3 Years Full-time
OR
3 Years Part-time (Weekdays – evenings from 5 pm and Saturdays)
NOTE: Bachelor of Business Information Technology & Bachelor of Science in IT are full time(Day only)
1. Bachelor of Science (Actuarial Science) / i)Be a holder of KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C+ in both Mathematics and English. / 3 Years Full-time
OR
3 Years Part-time (Weekdays – evenings from 5 pm and Saturdays)
1. Bachelor of Development Studies / i) Be a holder of KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C in English/Kiswahili and a minimum pass in Mathematics
ii) Be a holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass in general paper and a minimum of credit pass in English/ Kiswahili in KCE.
iii) Be a holder of diploma in a relevant discipline from an institution recognised by the University Senate.
iv) Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above. / 3 Years Full-time
OR
3 Years Part-time (Weekdays – evenings from5 pm and Saturdays)
1. Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management
2. Diploma in Business Information Technology
3. Diploma in Business Administration
4. Diploma in Human Resource Management
5. Diploma in IT
6. Diploma in Microfinance / i) KCSE Grade C with at least C- in Mathematics and English
ii) KCE Division II
iii) Credit pass in any relevant certificate course with at least KCSE Grade C- or KCE III with at least C- in Mathematics and English
iv) In addition to the above, Certificate in IT may also be considered for Diploma in IT / 11/2 Years Full-time
OR
11/2 Years Part-time (Weekdays - evenings from 5 pm and Saturdays)
NOTE: Diploma in Business Information Technology & Diploma in IT are full time (Day only)
1. Diploma in Community Development
2. Diploma in Public Relations
3. Diploma in HIV/AIDS management & counselling / i) KCSE Grade C with at least C- in English and a minimum pass in Mathematics (Biology C- for HIV/AIDS)
ii) KCE Division II with Credit in English and a pass in mathematics
iii) Credit pass in any relevant certificate course with at least KCSE Grade C- or KCE III with at least C- in English and a pass in Mathematics / 11/2 Years Full-time or Saturdays and Sundays
OR
11/2 Years Part-time (Weekdays - evenings from 5 pm and Saturdays)
MODE OF APPLICATION
Applications can be made on prescribed forms obtainable from Nakuru CBD Campus or School for Human Resources Development (SHRD) -JKUAT main campus upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,500/ for degree and Kshs. 1,000 for Diploma courses. Application forms may also be down loaded from the JKUAT website at www.jkuat.ac.ke.
