Papers:

All papers must be at least five pages long, double spaced, 12 font, new times roman, and 1” margins. They must be turned in on time or they are 20% off for every day late.

Economics paper:

Invent a country. Give it a name, a location, a climate, and a type of economy. Make sure that location, climate, and economy work together. For example, a country near the North Pole would not have a hot and humid climate. Describe who owns the means of production, how enterprise is regulated, and what part the consumer plays in the economy. Discuss what success and problems the country has had, and be sure to examine what part supply and demand plays in each of those roles. Also cover importing and exporting and how you get along with countries through the help of organizations like WTO or NAFTA.

Congressmen Paper:

Go into great depth on how a person becomes a congressman. Be sure to talk about the campaigning process, voting process, and the requirements according to the constitution. Then explain the differences between all of the committees that congressmen can join, and how they get assigned to certain committees. Then describe their many powers like money powers, commerce powers, military powers, and foreign powers. The powers they have are they implied or expressed and what is the difference. Finally discuss how congressmen get their jobs done and what is their main goal in their work. Look into congress staff, committee staff, support services, casework, and pork-barrel projects.

Citizen and political party Paper:

Explain what a U.S. citizen is by discussing what an alien and illegal alien is. Then explain what duties, rights, and responsibilities we have as U.S. citizens. Explain how America unity through such things as patriotism, but how we are separated by such things as political parties. Then describe what political parties do, what a plank is, and what a platform is.

Legal System Paper:

Explain what happens to an accused person from arrest to jail in great detail. Be sure to explain the rights of the accused. Also explain the difference between federal courts and state courts, and how person knows which court system they are going into. Also explain the difference between Civil law and Criminal law. Finally, discuss how a person becomes a judge and how long they have the job for.

Taxation and Budget paper:

Explain how the National government prepares the federal budget and what a budget is. Discuss their revenues and expenditures in extreme detail. Then examine the current budget and discuss what you think is good about it, and what you would change about it. Then discuss how this research will help you develop your own personal budget.

Early Government paper:

Describe how the United States of America broke away from Great Britain. Then describe how the U.S developed their government and whose ideas did they take from to help develop the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence (John Locke). Then explain what the House of Burgesses was, what it was the first example of, and how it changed America. Then explain what the Mayflower Compact was, what it was the first example of, and how it changed America. Finally, describe what you think life would be like in the U.S. if we had not developed our own Government.
