ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION
Dear ASA MembersThe ASA Constitution (Clause 1.28) defines a National Athlete as an Athlete whose name appears on ASA’s Register of National Athletes.
An athlete automatically obtain national athlete status when the athlete represented South Africa at the Olympic Games or IAAF (Senior) Championships; or win a gold medal as individual at the Comrades Marathon, or represented South Africa at the 100km Ultra-Marathon.
Please find attached a list of National Athletes. The athletes whom where part of the team representing South Africa at the 2017 IAAF World Championships, and the South African Athletes whom won gold at the 2017 Comrades Marathon are added to the list below in red.
Members are requested to scrutinize the amended lists and notify ASA at of any changes, updates or corrections that needs to be made before the end of November 2017.
Kindly note that as in 2017, the National Athletes will be issued with personalized licenses.
It is therefore important that members verify that the spelling is correct and that the athletes are still in the provinces as indicated in the list below.
