Deer Lakes Little League

11-12 Major Division

2008 In House Rules

The following rules have been adopted by Deer Lakes Little League for all games played between Deer Lakes In House Teams in the 11-12 age division during the 2008 regular season. These rules do not pertain to inter league games between Deer Lakes teams and all other District 26 teams. They do not pertain to any playoff or district tournament games that may occur during 2008. All games between Deer Lakes Little league teams and other District 26 teams will follow all 2008 Little League Official Rules.

1. Continuous batting order will be utilized. Each team will bat all players in the lineup

up to the maximum for each team.

2. Free defensive substitutions throughout the game, except the pitcher. All players may be freely exchanged within the game, but will remain in the same order at bat. The pitcher may not return to pitch in the game once he is removed from that position.

3. Pitchers, regardless of age, will be limited to the number of pitches allowed by Little League Pitch count rules per game.

4. At least one (1) eleven year old player must pitch in each game.

5. We will follow the Little League pitch count and rest requirements for all pitchers.

6. No new inning will be started after 2 hours has passed from the start of the game.

7. A regulation game is 6 innings. A game will be considered complete after 4 innings have been played. If after 6 innings the game is tied, the game will continue until the tie is broke or conditions cause the game to be called. The game then will be declared suspended and continued from that point. The suspended game shall and will be rescheduled. If the game is suspended before the full 4th complete inning, then the game will be rescheduled. These games will start over from the first inning.

8. The HOME team will be responsible for preparing the field for play including lining and dragging the field. The lining includes the batter box; foul lines and coaches box at first and third. The away team is responsible for raking the field upon completion of the game and ensuring all bases are put away and the equipment shed is locked.

9. The home team will have choice of bench/dugout.

10. The Umpires decision will be FINAL on all judgment calls.

11. The home team will call rainouts. The manager/coach will make the final determination. The home team manager will be responsible for notifying the League scheduler of the cancellation and the rescheduling of the make-up game.

12. No curve balls, sliders, screwballs, knuckle balls, etc. may be used during any game, including pre game warm-ups at the fields. These pitches will be considered illegal and are harmful to the health of the pitcher. Only fastballs and change ups are permitted. Pitchers will be given one (1) warning if caught throwing these pitches during a game. If the warned pitcher throws another illegal pitch during the same game, he will be immediately removed from the position of pitcher and given a (1) calendar week suspension from the date of that game in which he is removed. That pitchers name will then be given to all other coaches in the in house league. If the said pitcher throws another illegal pitch during any other game during the season, he will immediately be removed from that game and suspended from pitching for the remainder of the season, including all district playoff and tournament games.
