Data Management & Business Intelligence Intern

Position Details

Reporting to the job supervisor, this role provides general support of the analysis, process improvement, data management and performance reporting functions of the Fund.

The Intern will be responsible and will contribute to the following tasks:

·  Operates Business Intelligence tools for the Fund and co-ordinates/supports their use by stakeholders

·  Liaises with the Fund administrators to understand the elements of Fund data held, as required

·  Prepare and provide key data sets for analysis, data modelling and campaigns

·  Deliver data extracts and relevant information to Groups where requested

·  Undertake process improvement initiatives/projects to enhance the efficiency in the ongoing operations of data teams within the Fund

The role may be seconded to other areas of the Fund to assist with Business Intelligence activities

The following skills are desirable, but not essential:

·  Technical skills in the use of reporting and data visualization packages including advanced Excel/VBA/Macros/Powerpoint, and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, QlikView (Desirable)

·  Knowledge of SQL,SRSS, Cognos, Hyperion and other MIS & reporting concepts (Desirable)

·  Any work experience in financial services and/or superannuation, telecommunications (Desirable)

Data management & Analysis

·  An understanding of database concepts

·  Knowledge in Database Management programming languages such as Microsoft SQL Server 2012 package

·  Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

·  Experience in data manipulation, analysis techniques and interpretation skills

·  Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills

·  Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers

·  Able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
