Thank you

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all families for your ongoing support. This includes taking the time to complete the recently issued questionnaires. Your views and opinions are very much valued and will be used to help steer our new phase of whole school development planning.

Safeguarding

In the interests of health and safety, we would like to remind all parents to park in the lower car park when coming to collect your child/children. It is imperative that the children use the footpaths provided and do not walk across the roundabout. Many thanks in anticipation of your support in this.

Carntall Chickens

Following the School Council’s appeal for support with their ‘Carntall Chicken’ enterprise, we are delighted to say that we had a very positive response. The children decided that the first three families to reply should take this project ‘under their wing’ and as a consequence we hope to have our chickens on site after the Christmas holidays. We would like to thank Harvey and Clare Keys, Winston and Hazel McKeown and Stephen and Lorraine Robinson for taking this on board.

We would also like to thank all other families who volunteered. Your generosity and support is very much appreciated and will prove invaluable in the realisation of other ventures later in the year.

New School Notice Boards

In order to fully showcase the excellent work and achievements of all pupils in Carntall, we will be installing a range of new display boards inside the school. These boards have been kindly gifted by Coote’s Hardware Store in Ballygawley and are being erected for free by local joiner Michael Gormley of Greenwood Flooring.

Tri County Sports

The Carntall football team participated in the Tri County Competition on Tuesday 10 November and really did us proud. Both the football and netball teams will continue to play throughout the winter at the Tri-County Sports, Dungannon and at the Fivemiletown competitions and we look forward to celebrating in their future successes.

Christmas Presents for staff

As parents, you are all very generous in purchasing Christmas gifts for staff. This year, we would like to suggest that instead of purchasing gifts for your child’s teacher, teaching assistant or any other member of staff, you would make a donation to our chosen school charity.

This year, we would like to support past pupil Alice Gervais as she plans to embark on missionary work in Uganda. We would ask that donations are sent into school, in an envelope labelled ‘Christmas Gift’. Many thanks for your anticipated support with this.

Staff Development

In order to facilitate a staff development event, the school will close early on Friday 11 December. All children will leave school at 1.30pm. (Usual buses will operate)

Eco Schools

Following the Eco Committee’s first meeting on Tuesday 10 November, it was decided that this year’s focus would be onimproving our school grounds, waste and global citizenship.

PTA

Following the PTA’s first meeting on Tuesday 10 November, we are happy to announce that we now have an active PTA up and running in our school. We would encourage all parents to become actively involved in the life of our school and the PTA is a wonderful way to begin. If you would like further information please contact the school. We would be delighted to hear from you and to have you on board.
