On motion of Mr. , seconded by Mr. , the following resolution was offered:

RESOLUTION NO.

A resolution authorizing Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement between the Parish of Jefferson and Veolia Transportation Services, Inc., as originally ratified by Resolution No.105034, adopted March 8, 2006, which creates a new expiration date of March 31, 2011, and authorizes Management and Operations of Public Transportation Fixed Route Services and the mobility impaired transportation system (hereinafter referred to as “MITS”) for the Department of Transit Administration for a contract cap not to exceed $6,943,000.00. (Parish wide)

WHEREAS, the Parish entered into a contract with Firm Dated July 10, 2006, ratified by resolution No. 105034, adopted March 8, 2006, to provided Management and Operations of Public Transportation Fixed Route Services for the Department of Transit Administration for a three (3) year term; and,

WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 was authorized by resolution No 106935, adopted January 10, 2007, which provided for changes to certain terms of the contract including a name change from ATC/Vancom to Veolia Transportation Services, Inc.; and Amendment No. 2 was authorized by Resolution No. 11007, adopted April 9, 2008 which amends certain terms and extended the agreement with Veolia Transportation Services, Inc.: and

WHEREAS, Amendment No. 2 was authorized by Resolution No. 110007, adopted April 9, 2008 which amends certain terms and extends the agreement with Veolia transportation Services, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, the parties desire once again to amend the contract in certain terms, and extend the agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Jefferson Parish Council of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, acting as governing authority of said Parish:

SECTION 1. That the Jefferson Parish Council does hereby authorize the execution of Amendment No. 3, which creates a new expiration date of March 31, 2011, and authorizes Management and Operations of Public Transportation Fixed Route Services and the mobility impaired transportation system (hereinafter referred to as “MITS”) for the Department of Transit Administration for a contract cap not to exceed $6,943,000.00.

SECTION 2. That the cost of the Agreement shall not exceed the contract cap of $6,943,000.00, which shall be charged to account no. 21680-2001-7343.

SECTION 3. That the Chairman of the Jefferson Parish Council, or in his absence the Vice Chairman, be, and is, hereby authorized to sign any and all documents necessary to give full force and effect to this resolution.
