TE PĪHOPA O TE WAIPOUNAMU - CANDIDATE PROFILE & SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION FORM
Candidates must provide the following documents in support of their nomination
CV / Please incorporate the following in your CV- Marital history and status
- Family details
- Health and wellbeing (documentation may be required)
- Education, including continuing education courses taken since ordination
- Pastoral experience
- Relationship with local iwi
- Other relevant experience
- No more than two paragraphs describing your style of leadership and how you consider it complements the exercise of the episcopate.
Candidate Statement / Written statement (no more than four pages) outlining your vision for the mission and ministry of the Anglican Maori Diocese o Te Waipounamu.
Letters of Orders / Official document and record that refers to and validates your ordination as a deacon and then as a priest. Both will be required. Copy to be provided.
Letters of Authority / License – 'authority' to function or minister in a capacity as stated in the letter, such as a deacon, chaplain or priest. Copy to be provided.
Police Check / As required
Referee (2) / Two appropriate character references (including, where applicable, a reference from a current Bishop).
The referee will need to answer the following questions:
How long have you known this person?
How long have you known this person in the context of Christian community?
Please describe how you have experienced this person as a Christian leader, pastor, teacher, etc.
How does this person witness to the Lordship of Christ and give glory to God?
NB - In the event that more than two referees are received, the first two referees will be sent out to the members of the Electoral College.
Declaration - signed
In addition to the documents noted above, candidates are required to record a DVD presentation no more than 10-minutes long, prior to the Electoral College. This presentation will be your responses to a standard set of questions prepared by Bishop Victoria. Instructions and arrangements to complete this will be discussed directly with you. The filming of the interview will be organised and conducted by Te Waipounamu (in the case of overseas nominations, arrangements will be made).

I / confirm that I have provided the informationrequired in support of my nomination. Failure to disclose medical or important personal history could lead to the disqualification of a candidate.
In signing this declaration I acknowledge that;
- I have fully considered the requirements of the office of Te Pīhopa, prayed and deliberated and know of no impediments that would prevent me from accepting my nomination.
- I will be available by phone or in person throughout the entirety of the Electoral College. Failure to be contactable may lead to disqualification.
- Referee and character checks will be carried out by the Commissary, or Electoral College Secretariat, which may include phone contact with others who are not stated referees.
- Te Hui Amorangi o Te Waipounamu will be notified of my nomination along with all other candidates nominated.
- The Curriculum Vitae and Candidate Statement I have provided in support of my nomination will be released to Members of the Electoral College.

In addition to this form, a valid Nomination Form must also have been submitted to the Te Waipounamu office by midnight on 15 August 2016.
