DeSales One Button Studio
Quickstart Guide
To turn on the One Button Studio, simply insert your USB drive into the blue USB port located on the top of the podium, as shown in the picture below.
· IMPORTANT NOTE: Your USB flash drive must have at least 500 MB of free space available, and be formatted using FAT formatting (i.e. FAT, FAT32, exFAT). If you are unsure of how to format your drive, please ask at the front desk.
You will notice the studio lights turn on automatically, and a video window appears on the computer monitor.
· Please note that the video view of yourself is on a brief delay. This is inherent to the function of the software, as it is encoding your video in real-time.
· The purpose of the video screen is to ensure you are within the frame of the video.
· There are markings on the floor to indicate the optimum location to stand. For best results, please stay within these markings.
To begin recording, simply press the big silver button, which is also shown in the picture below.
You will see a 5-second countdown begin. Use this time to step back into place, and the recording will begin as soon as the countdown completes.
· When the recording begins, you will see a recording timer begin in the lower-right corner of the screen.
To end the recording, press the large silver button again.
The software will prompt you to wait, as it saves the video to your thumb drive. When it has completed, it will prompt you to remove your USB drive from the USB port, or begin another recording. At this time, if you would like to record another video, press the large silver button again. If you are done, you can safely remove your USB drive from the USB port.
To Use a PowerPoint Presentation:
Use the laptop located on the left side of the podium to load any presentation materials you wish to show in your video. This can be done via USB drive, or cloud-based storage.
Once you have the materials loaded, use the projector remote located on the podium to turn on the projector.
· The power button is the red button on the upper-left of the remote.
The projector will take approximately 45 seconds to fully power up. Please wait 1 minute before you begin the recording.
When you have completed your recording, use the remote to turn the projector off. To do this, you must press the power button twice.
· This is a feature inherent to all projectors. After the first press to power it off, the projector will prompt you to make sure you really want to turn it off. A second press of the power button confirms that, yes, you want to turn the projector off.
Please be sure to delete any files you may have temporarily stored on the presentation laptop.
To Use the Green Screen:
The black control located between the projector remote and the USB port is a control for the green screen function.
To turn the green screen on, slide the silver switch to the left for green. If you are wearing any green colors (which may cause a conflict with the green screen technology), slide the switch to the right for a blue screen.
If your use of the green screen technology requires a dimmer setting, the large grey buttons on the controller will allow you to dim, or subsequently brighten, the color.
When you have finished using the green (or blue) screen, please return the silver switch back to its default center position. This will turn the color off.
