ABOUT CONCEALED CARRY WEAPONS (CCW) COURSE

1. How long is the CCW course?
It is a one-day class. Nevada requires class and range time to last 8 hours.
2. How much does the class cost? Can I pay with a check/ cash/credit card? The initial class is $100.00 and the renewal class is $50.00. We accept cash only at this time.
3. Do I need my own handgun to take the class?
Yes, you need to own or borrow a handgun to bring to the class, or you may rent one for $25.00.
4. What must I bring for handguns to the class?
You need bring ONLY ONE handgun – either a semi-auto pistol or revolver.
5. How much ammo do I need to bring? Bring 50 rounds with you. You will shoot approx. 30 rounds.
6. Can I bring/shoot any caliber handgun? Yes.
7. Where do we go to shoot when qualifying in the class? To private property in Bunkerville.
8. Must I go to Las Vegas Metro to complete my application? Yes, everyone must go to Las Vegas for fingerprints, photo and background check (with their certificate) You have one year from the date of the classroom/range to go to Metro and apply for your CCW permit.
9. How much will it cost when I go to Metro? $98.25 for first timers and $63.25 for renewals. Cash, money order, credit card (no Amex) or certified check is acceptable. If the renewal date is more than 120 days after expiration, add a $25.00 nonrefundable late fee. You can renew at any time, no credit is given for renewing early at this time.
10. How long will it take to receive my permit in the mail? Expect approximately 4 months (120 days) to receive your CCW permit in the mail. Calling us or Metro will not get it faster.
11. For how long is my permit valid? Nevada CCW permits are valid for 5 years from date of issue for residents and non-residents.
12. In what other states is my permit valid?
Currently, the following states for NV residents are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho,
Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. For nonresidents, remove Michigan and Minnesota. We offer a packet for the FL CCW permit which covers several additional states. A few states will not accept either NV or FL. If in doubt, visit usacarry.com or lvmpd.com for a specific state.
13. Do I need a holster for the class? It is recommended that you have a holster. If you do not, the gun must be in a case, bag or rug unloaded.
14. When it is time to renew my permit, what do I do? Visit us or call Guns & Guitars/Wild West Firearms Training during normal business hours to register for the next scheduled class.
