INSTRUCTIONS.
· Answer all the questions in the spaces provided to each question.
· Study each specimen critically before attempting the question.
· Follow instructions properly
1. You are provided with specimen N, distilled water, barium sulphate, dropper, a test tube , PH indicator, colour chart and test tube rack.
Place about 10cm3 of specimen N in the test tube provided. Add about 10cm3 of barium sulphate powder into the test tube. Add 20cm2 of distilled water then add about 2-4 drops of the indicator into the tube.
Shake the content thoroughly and have the tube to settle for 30 minutes in
the rack.
Hold the clear colour in the middle of the test tube against the colour chart provided to determine the PH of the specimen.
(a) State the PH of the specimen.
