GHOST BATH plays atmospheric black metal focused on depression and human emotion. In 2013, Nameless wrote and recorded a self-titled EP and released it through two indie labels in China and Russia. His next release, »Funeral«, gained more popularity for the band through the Chinese label, Pest Productions, released in early 2014.

The critically acclaimed »Moonlover« - the first part of GHOST BATH's trilogy - was recorded later that year with engineer Josh Schroeder in Michigan. Nameless, once again, wrote and recorded the album himself, finishing it in just three days time.

"The album explored melancholy, sorry, depression, and earthly things," says Nameless. "It represents purgatory and, most importantly; tragedy. The trilogy will represent basic human emotions and the experience of an afterlife simultaneously."

»Starmourner« , the new album, takes these concepts to a higher level. It explores joy (instead of sorrow), the cosmos (instead of earth), and paradise (instead of purgatory.) But most importantly, it explores ecstasy - instead of tragedy - as its basic human emotion. With over 72 minutes of heavy, melodic, and dramatic black metal, it is GHOST BATH’s most ambitious undertaking yet.

The album takes its listener on a journey in a variety of ways; each track is accompanied by a beautifully crafted painting as well as a "parable" to read alongside. This allows the listener to explore not only the audio soundscapes, but a visual and imaginative experience through as they delve into the album.

"The stories, or parables, look into Jewish angelology and the hierarchy of angels as found in the bible and other religious texts," says Nameless. “Although the album has a definitive joyful and hopeful feel, it is still drenched in depression and sorry, as any true GHOST BATH record should be."

GHOST BATH began touring in 2016 as a five-piece act, playing their first string of shows along the west coast of the United States. They headlined tours in the US, Canada, and Europe over the span of three months as well as supported larger acts such as CONVERGE, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, DYING FETUS and GOATWHORE. Although it was their first time on the road as a band, they played the main stage at Bloodstock Open Air Festival in the United Kingdom (only their 22nd show ever) and a variety of other festivals during their month long excursion to Europe.

2017 looks bright for the band as they have already announced a spot at Hellfest in Clisson, France:

"We've been brainstorming and working on new ideas," Nameless states. "We want to bring something new to experience at our live shows with the release of this new album. We love playing live and plan to do so as often as possible in 2017."
