“What Is the Bible?”
2 Peter 1:16-21
Non-Christian sources show, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that:
- Jesus was truly a historical person.
- Jesus lived in Palestine in the first century of our era.
- The Jewish leadership was involved in the death of Jesus.
- Jesus was crucified by the Romans under the governorship of Pontius Pilate.
- Jesus’ ministry was associated with wonders/sorcery.

- Because Peter was an ______, he could testify beyond any doubt that Jesus truly was the Son of God (vs. 16-18).
- Peter states, while proclaiming, he was not following cleverly devised ______.
- Peter’s message was based upon firsthand ______.
- This Bible is a ______to the truthfulness that Jesus really was the Son of God.

Because the Bible is the Word of God…
It must be Read. It must be taught. It must be listened too.It must be obeyed.
Its teachings must be applied.

Colossians 1:28-29
28We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. 29For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.
John 20:30-31
30Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book;31but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.
John 21:24
This is the disciple who is testifying to these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.
Luke 1:1-4
