Reports

Tournament

Tamara Pollack reported that /Red Deer Lodge is on board as the host Hotel for our Tournament. There will be Thursday Ice for the Tournament and it will be a Red Deer vs Red Deer game. Should have enough ice for tournament, U6 division was discussed to try and find the ice to include them into our Tournament.

President’s Report

David Allin discussed the possibility of not paying for the team photo’s that everyone receives it was decided to discuss at a later date.

Bonnie Gallaso is getting a hold of Sports Pix to see if the pictures can be done earlier in the year.

Vice President’s Report

Oiler’s 50/50 will net the association approximately $12000.00 after all expenses associated with it David Millar thanked everyone again for their help with it.

Possibilty is there for the association or a team to do the 50/50 at an Edmonton Oil King’s game Dave Millar will check into it further. Dave Millar Motioned to help the Open B team with their intial start up costs with a $2500.00 check. Seconded by Candy Towers Carried

Evaluations Bunny/Novice

Teams may be too small for Novice and Bunnies, it was discussed to look at the possibility of moving some of the first year 9 year olds down to help the numbers.

Ref in Chief Report

Bill Musselman reported that there is a referee clinic on Saturday October 17th in Red Deer. Sobey’s Gift card fundraiser 3 teams will be participating. David Allin thanked Bill for all the work he did in setting it up.

Bonnie Galasso reported we have enough sponsors for the year, she would also like to have the Web-Site updated as soon as possible.

Coaching Report

Chris brought forward a policy on coaches behaviour towards officials and the policy for what will happen when issues are present. CandyTowers motioned to adopt the coaches behaviour policy as presented by Chris Kelly Seconded by Dave Millar Carried.

Chris Kelly wants everyone who was a head coach last year that he is sorting through the feedback that was given from last year and that meetings will be had with all of the head coaches from last year to review the comments that were brought forward.

Black Gold League Report

Darren Garbe reported that there was a meeting on Thursday that he will not be able to attend if someone else was interested in going.

Petite “A” and Petite “C” both won Gold Medals at the St. Albert Turkey Ring on Thanksgiving Weekend.

Evaluations Petite and Up

Doug Domoney thanked everyone again for all of there help during the evaluation process. Everything went really smooth and going forward into next year the Web site will be used again next year to post teams as it was a useful tool this past year.

Ref Scheduling Report

Nancy Lougheed not present at the meeting

Darren Garbe brought up that we should host Petite “A” provincials this year and that the team is going to look to see if there is ice time that can be committed to this happening.

Jim Schlachter volunteered to be the new Web Master for Red Deer Ringette instead of having someone else outside the association putting the information onto the site. The executive will look into possibility of handing the Web Site over to Jim. And will vote at a later date on this.
