WELCOME TO GRADE 5

Dear Parents,

Hello, my name is Mrs. Stern, and I will be your child’s homeroom teacher. I am starting my 19th year of teaching and look forward to working with you and your child.

My goals, as a teacher, are to teach a well-planned curriculum, be a positive role-model, foster the children’s self-esteem and provide a safe, caring and positive learning environment. I feel every child is special and will be treated that way. I will be as fair as possible when looking at the student’s academics and behavior. I will also try to keep you, the parents, informed about your child. Remember you are the most important people in your child’s life. Together, we can provide the best learning possible for your child.

In addition to teacher assistants who have always been an asset to our school, wewill also have DoctorMartinLutherCollegestudents working in our classroom periodically throughout the year. These students are in their junior and senior years of college and come with experience to our classroom.

I expect the children to do their best on all their work. I also expect everyone to be kind and respectful to their classmates, other children, teachers, adults working at our school, and the school building.

I know we will have a productive and fun school year. Please feel free to call or email me anytime with a question or concern. I am attaching some other information you should know.

Thank you,

Mrs. Stern
