Autodesk - Nastran Installation Guide
1. Double-click on the setup.exe executable file and located in the folder
NASTRAN_2015_Eng_Win_64bit_dlm
2. Click on Install on the right hand side near the bottom and run as “Administrator”.
3. Select the “I Accept” radio button and click on Next
4. Select the Network Radio Button and enter the server name txcappwch512 in the box on the right hand side
Enter the product Serial # and key on the lower left hand side and press the Next button
Note – The product key info is stored in a text file at the root level folder
5. Leave default installation path and click on Install
6. Click on Finish
After the installation is done, we need to set up the connection to the license server.
1. Start up the Autodesk software. The following window appears to setup the connection to the License server
2. Click on Next
3. Enter the port and server name: 2081@txcappwch512
4. Click on Finish to complete the License server setup
5. Update the following environment variables so that FEMAP launches Autodesk NASTRAN. Note that these entries are CASE SENSITIVE.

Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings > Environmental Variables
Change NENAST_EXE to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Nastran 2015\Editor\Editor.exe
Change NENAST_INT to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Nastran 2015\NASTRAN.INI
WINDOWS XP
Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environmental Variables
Change NENAST_EXE to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Nastran 2015\Editor\Editor.exe
Change NENAST_INT to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Nastran 2015\NASTRAN.INI
6. Update the system path environment variable so that NASTRAN can be launched from a DOS window. REMOVE THE OLD PATH TO THE NEI FILES (BUT JUST THE NEI PART (SEE BELOW), THERE ARE OTHER THINGS IN THE PATH YOU DON’T WANT TO REMOVE, BE VERY CAREFUL HERE).

Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings > Environmental Variables > Edit the System Path variable by adding a semicolon and the path where nastran.exe resides.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environmental Variables > Edit the System Path variable by adding a semicolon and the path where nastran.exe resides.
NASTRAN.EXE LOCATIONS
MSC ;C:\MSC.Software\MSC_Nastran\bin
Autodesk ;C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Nastran 2015
Nei ;C:\Program Files\NEi Nastran Engine V102
IMPORTANT: You do not need to reboot for the path change to take effect, but you MUST open a NEW cmd window.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. If a run hangs at the license acquisition stage, check to make sure you are not running in the Program Files directory. Most users do not have write access to that directory.
