Mini World Cup 2015 – Canada Edition

June 12th – 14th, 2015

Capital United Soccer Club cordially extends a personal invitation to you and your club to participate in its 1st edition of the Girls Mini World Cup Tournament – Canada Edition to be held in Ottawa on June 12th to 14th, at Leitrim Park.

Consistent with our thematic approach to this tournament, this year each team will represent one of the nations scheduled to take part in the FIFA WORLD CUP 2015. There will be a total of 24 teams accepted, 12 for the U11 age group, and 12 for the U13 age group.

The tournament will offer an Inter-District Festival at the U11 age group (born on or after January 1, 2004) and is an Inter-Provincial level at the U13 age group (born on or after January 1, 2002) for District and Regional levels teams (and equivalent levels in other provinces and countries, for example “AA” “A” in Quebec).

The U-11 Girls will play mini-soccer, 9-a-side games, and are allowed a maximum of 14 players on their roster.

The U-13 Girls will play 11-a-side games, and are allowed a maximum of 18 players on their roster. A maximum of 3 guest players is allowed.

Each team will be issued a set of jerseys as a keepsake of this unique soccer tournament experience. All teams and coaches will be honoured in the official opening ceremonies within the “parade of athletes”. This year, we anticipate over 3000 spectators in attendance.

In addition, our media partners will also be providing media coverage of all aspects of the Mini World Cup 2015 – Canada WORLD CUP Edition.

For the U11 category, the Festival format will follow the Ontario Soccer Association Festival guidelines and will be hosting a one day Festival with two games on the first day and soccer activities (including technical drills and competitions) on the second day.

For the U13 category, this two-day event guarantees each team a minimum of 4 games.

All players must have individual identification (current association, provincial player’s book or EODSA ID card). Teams must be registered with their District Association and provide their official District Team

Roster. All teams that are traveling outside of their district to attend the tournament will be required to provide proof of Permission to travel from their District Association. This travel permit must be submitted 7 days prior to the start of the Tournament. Participating teams are also required to provide proof of Medical Insurance Coverage for all players and team officials (usually included with player/coach).

The Mini World Cup Tournament Series has quickly become a well-attended event. We would encourage you to register early as we anticipate the tournament to reach its registration capacity within a very short period of time.
