1 The document:

This document will guide the user through the installation and the configuration of the software. It also includes instructions to use the software.

2 The software:

The software includes two programs, one for the electronic questionnaire and another one for the evaluation and the processing of the questionnaire’s results.

The questionnaire software allows the user to fill a questionnaire digitally. The user is asked to enter his test person number and the situation code. After saving the identity data the questions are displayed in a random order. The user can now start filling out the form by selecting radio buttons. Only one alternative for each question is allowed. After filling all the fields the form can be submitted. The data are stored and the screen for the next test person is displayed.

The evaluation program can only be run by a test supervisor. The supervisor is prompted to enter his password. After selecting the location of the questionnaire’s results, the supervisor can select the evaluation mode. The results are displayed in an overview panel. By clicking the thumbnails the details for each test person are displayed.

The software is ergonomic, easy to use and offers a modern design.

3 Installation:

3.1 Windows:

To install the software run the distribution package

“EfficientOffice Windows setup.exe”.

Select the components to install (it is recommended to keep all components selected!).

The installation path for the server/client components will be displayed, confirm the installation by pressing install.

During the installation process, a symbol will appear on the Windows® taskbar. Click the symbol, you will be prompt to start the XAMPP control panel, click No.

The installation path for the EfficientOffice software will be displayed, confirm the installation by pressing install.

After closing the installation package the software is ready to use.

Document Paths:

Under Windows® the {installation-folder} refers to C:\EfficientOffice on your local disk.

· In order to be able to read the situation code and the test person number, he Psyscope output files should be copied/saved under:

{installation-folder}\Psyscope-results

· The output files of the Questionnaire are saved under:

{installation-folder}\Questionnaire-output

· The results of the evaluation are saved under:

{installation-folder}\components\htdocs\EfficientOffice\auswert\Evaluation-results

You can access this folder directly using the Windows® start menu under:

All programs > EfficientOffice > Evaluation-results

3.2 MAC OS X:

Please see the document “Anleitung-MAC OS X”

4 Configuration:

To perform changes in the configuration please read the following routines. If you are not familiar with PHP, please do not perform any changes that are not described. This could lead to system failures.

4.1 Change the supervisor password:

The supervisor password is saved in a called password.inc.php, this can be found under:

{installation-folder}\components\htdocs\auswert

To change the password, edit the value of $passsoll:

$passsoll = "your_new_password";

4.2 Add a new form:

The forms are saved under:

{installation-folder}\components\htdocs\forms

To create a new form copy an existent one, rename it in the form “language.xml” and edit it according to your needs.

The file should include the following entries:

<option>: the possible answers (on top of the form) </option>

<question>: the questions on the left side of the form </question>

After restarting the software, the new form will appear in the language menu:

5 Questionnaire’s manual:

5.1 Run the software:

To software can be started form an icon on the desktop.

After starting, the user is prompted to say if whether or not he performed a performance test (PsyScope).

If the answer is “yes”, the test person number and the situation number is automatically read from the Psyscope files and a confirmation screen is displayed.

By answering “no”, a test person number and a situation number has to entered manually. The information is stored and the form is displayed.

5.2 Exit the program:

To exit the program the button “beenden” can be pressed. This is possible in all screens, except the form screen. The form has to be filled out completely and submitted in order to get to the confirmation screen.

5.3 Select a new form:

The user can select a new form (e.g. another language) by pressing the button “Fragebogen auswählen” on the form screen. He will access the form’s menu and can select an appropriate form.

The last used form is always displayed at the start of the software.

6 Evaluation program manual:

6.1 Select data location:

After starting the evaluation program, the supervisor is asked to enter his password.

A file tree is displayed and the supervisor can select the location of the data to be evaluated (questionnaire’s results).

The default path for the output of the questionnaire is:

{installation-folder}\Questionnaire-output

6.2 Select evaluation mode:

The supervisor can select the evaluation type:

· Standard deviation

· Standard error

After selecting the location of the data and the evaluation type the supervisor can click the “Auswählen” button to process the evaluation.

6.3 View details:

At the end of the evaluation process, an overview screen is displayed with thumbnails of all the results. By clicking a thumbnail the details of the situation are displayed. The details consist in a large diagram and a table with exact values.

The supervisor can navigate to the folder where the results are stored by clicking the button “anzeigen”.

The path of the evaluations results is shown on top of the screen.

If a test doesn’t fall within the correct stanine interval an error message is displayed, referring to the test person number
