The South Carolina Mixed Doubles League Program consists of team competition at the following levels:
18 & Over Age Group: 2.5*,6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, 10.0
*The 2.5 level is a straight level. Only 2.0 and 2.5 rated players may play at the
2.5 level. This takes theplace of the 5.0 level.
40 & Over Age Group: 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0
55 & Over Age Group: 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0
65 & Over Age Group*: 6.0, 7.0, 8.0
*The 65 & Over Age Group is a South Carolina league only with no advancement past the
South Carolina Mixed DoublesState Championship.
Individual mixed doubles teams’ combined NTRP ratings (this does not apply to the 2.5 straight level) may not exceed the overall team level entered.
Each player shall have reached the required minimum age prior to or during the calendar year in which such player participates in his or her first local league in the Adult Mixed 18 & Over, 40 & Over, 55 & Over and 65 & Over Age Divisions.
Players who do not have a computer rating on file in TennisLink shall self-rate inaccordance with the National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) Guidelines and complete the self-rating process on TennisLink when registering for a team. Failure to do so or omission of information regarding a player’s tennis history will subject the player, the captain and/or others who condoned inaccurate self-rating to penalties and disqualification.
The format for a mixed doubles team is three (3) mixed doubles partnerships with a minimum number of six (6) players (three men and three women) per team. THE PARTNERS’ RATINGS CANNOT BE MORE THAN 1.0 RATING APART. *This does not pertain to the 2.5 straight level.
To play in the: 2.5 level, (example combinations: 2.0 & 2.5 or 2.5 & 2.5)
6.0 level, (example combinations: 3.0 & 3.0, or 2.5 & 3.5)
7.0 level, (example combinations: 3.5 & 3.5, or 3.0 & 4.0)
8.0 level, (example combinations: 4.0 & 4.0, or 3.5 & 4.5)

10.0 level, (example combinations: 5.0 & 5.0, or 4.5 & 5.5)
A player may play at the same NTRP level in the same division (18 & Over, 40 & Over, 55 & Over, 65 & Over) in separate Mixed Leagues in South Carolina in the same season. If both teams in the same division advance to the Mixed State Championships, the player must choose to only play on one team at that same level.
A player may participate in more than one NTRP level in the 18 & Over, 40 & Over, 55 & Over, and 65 & Over Age Groups in the same Mixed League during the same season.
Players who qualify for South Carolina Mixed Doubles State Championship in 2018 may advance on more than one team within an Age Group only if they are different NTRP levels (i.e. player can play on an Adult 18 & over 6.0 team and 7.0 team) but with no schedule accommodations)
Any team defaulting a court for any reason at the State Championships will incur a $100 fine payable immediately (cash or check) for each court defaulted. If a team does not pay the fine, a grievance may be filed against all players on the state roster, which could result in the suspension of play from any USTA League play until the fine is paid. It is your team’s responsibility to have players on every court at each match at a State championship.
Deadline for registering a complete team in TennisLink isApril 5, 2018. We cannot put your team in the schedule if you miss this date. A complete team is a minimum of six (6) players (3 men and 3 women of eligible partnerships). Also be aware TennisLink will not accept a player without a USTA Membership current through the season. Important: If the player is joining USTA for the first time or renewing (if not current through the season), please have him/her do so through TennisLink at the time of registration. This will allow him/her to register immediately.
After commencement of play, players may be added to the roster in accordance to the following:
- Player’s name must be added to the team roster before the player’s participation in a team match.
- Players can be added to the team roster up to the May 25, 2018 add-on deadline.
