CPPC Shared Decision Making Team Meeting Notes

Present: Jenny Felt- DCAT & CPPC Coordinator; Natalia Trimnell-PHC; Sue Renfrow-Parenting Way; Debb Franz-Restorative Justice/JCS; Deb Schrader-4RKids; Devin Strief-Crisis Intervention, Jackie Stubbers-DHS; Liz Welder-New Opportunities; Jessica Martinson-VNS; Hannah Rivas-VNS; Mandi Vellinga-EFR; Lisa Mickelson-Iowa State Extension; Diane Hinderaker-Boone County Prevention; Sara Morton-Genesis Development; and Emily Neson-Boone Community School.

The meeting began at 1:00 pm at the Woodward Resource Center. Jenny Felt, DCAT/CPPC Coordinator, provided the agenda and lead introductions. Announcements were provided by attendees with community events, information and resources. If you have information to get out to the group, please email to .

The group reviewed the CPPC funding outlet spreadsheet for FY18. Events/Items included:

·  CPPC Salary/Website Annual Fee/Misc.

·  Blast Back to School Event

·  Lunch & Learns; Community Mixers, Community Events

·  Teen Maze

·  Mental Health Conference

·  Paper Tigers/Resilience Film Screening

Other funding opportunities:

·  Parent Engagement/Involvement – getting into Boone/Dallas Schools - $10,000 (Taylor City Preschool)

·  Back to School Events – IMPACT, Crisis, & New Opp

·  Backpack Stash to be provided throughout the year – Boone Community Schools

·  Mental Health Services in Perry & Boone Schools

·  First Aid Mental Health - Adults & Youth – Crisis Trainers (Hannah & Stephanie)?

·  Functional Family Therapy (FFT) – Provided by YSS – Family has to want it!

o  Evidence Based Training in the home

o  Positive results

o  Bill/phase - $1000; Family-$5000

o  Mostly for JCS but do for kids in in JCS

·  Parent Cafes

·  Nurtured Heart Training

·  Prevent Child Abuse Conference – money for folks to attend - $80/person

·  ART – Aggression Replacement Therapy – 2 day training – 3 times/week – Woodward Community

·  Protective Factors Training – PCA Iowa – Julie D.

·  Translation – live translation services needed (pot of funds to draw from)

·  Infestation in Homes

o  Bed Bugs - $1,000 1 time – more often required

·  Substance Abuse Evals in Homes (EFR Provided?)

Coordinator Felt provided attendees the New Member Orientation Packet showcasing the ins and outs of CPPC and DCAT. Four voting member were identified to be called upon to help with needs throughout the year. Voting members for Boone include: Diane Hindraker, Emily Nelson; RaeAnn Clark, & Tina Palmer. Voting members for Dallas include: Carol Bayer; Lisa Mickelson; Debb Franz; & Mandi Velling. Back up: Deb Schrader.

Felt also provided the CPPC Reporting/Evaluation Form for year end. This was reviewed and approved by the CPPC Shared Decision Making Team and will be taken to Ames Cluster DCAT at the upcoming meeting to be approved and submitted by August 15.

The meeting adjourned at 11 am. The next meeting will held Tuesday, September 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
