09/07 Celebrating the history, culture and people of Japan, the Japanese Festival at the Garden is

one of the largest and oldest festivals of its kind in the US. Since 1977, the Botanical Garden

has produced this festival in conjunction with the Japanese Activities Committee, a coalition

of Japanese-American organizations that provide the art, dance, entertainment and food for

most accomplished teachers and photographers in the field today. The evening will feature

his exquisite nature photography. Mr. Abell worked as a National Geographic photographer

from 1970-2005. In 1990, his work was the subject of a 1 person exhibition at the
