Type of position: Full-time, two year fixed term contract with good possibility of permanent
Salary: £27,600 - £34,500 + pension contribution

ShareAction is a ground breaking charity which, since its inception in 2005, has been successfully harnessing the shareholder power of major investors in order to change business practices to truly benefit savers, society and the environment. Due to a number of new projects we are looking for a Project Manager to join our campaigns team to oversee one or more work streams. Our campaigns look to harness the interests of the investment sector in influencing company behaviour on a range of social and environmental topics from the Living Wage to renewable technology.
About the role
The role will initially be responsible for one of our environmental campaigns targeting food supply chains. Over time we see you taking responsibility for other projects, especially those involving good corporate governance. Dependent on the candidate we would expect this role to develop some line management responsibility and to involve new programme development in time.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and evolving delivery plans for existing and new projects;
- Managing one or more complex projects with multiple stakeholders and challenging deliverables;
- Managing funder relationships;
- Developing and managing relationships with key professionals in the investment industry and corporate world so that they will support our work;
- Researchingand writing high-qualitybriefings for use with a variety of audiences, including investors and investee companies;
- Working with others to develop and implement public-facing campaigns to support our projects;
- Develop and maintain key relationships with civil society organisations with aligned missions;
- Ensuring all administration and reporting requirements for managed projects are effectively managed;
- Organising events (round tables, briefing etc) to support projects;
- Representing ShareAction at events and presentations as they relate to the projects managed.
Person Specification
ShareAction has a unique theory of change that works with the investment system, the corporate world and citizens whose savings are invested. Being unique means we don’t expect candidates to necessarily have done this before but it is essential that you can demonstrate:
- Strong project management skills;
- Can do attitude and able to hit the ground running;
- Experience of implementing a multi-stakeholder campaign or project;
- Excellent communications and stakeholder management ability, comfortable communicating at a senior level;
- Demonstrable experience of managing complex externally-facing campaigns or projects
- Good analytical skills – the ability to quickly assimilate information, pull out the relevant points and communicate it;
- Ability to get to grips with a new and complex subject areas quickly;
- A demonstrable understanding of how the commercial world functions and makes decisions – this may come from experience working in the private sector, from consultancy, from time in the investment world or from time working for an NGO that tries to influence company behaviour;
- Developing a working knowledge of environmental, social and corporate governance issues on which ShareAction campaigns, to highlight risk for investors and savers;
- Evidence of experience in making change happen – ideally using both online and real world tactics;
- A team player – able to support colleagues and work with others to achieve project aims;
- MS Office competent;
- 4 years+ of relevant work experience;
- Passionate about changing corporate behaviour to make the world a better and more sustainable place.
Desirable
- People management experience, either as line manager or project manager
- Understanding of (or experience working within) the investment industry
- Fundraising or business development experience
- Understanding of food supply chains
Further Details
Hours of work: 35 hrs per week with an expectation of some out of hours working
Holidays: 25 days per annum plus working days between Christmas and New Year, plus bank holidays.
