Agenda

Opening

Ms. Kolk called the meeting to order. Ms. Lloyd seconded. The meeting was opened with introductions.

Ms. Kolk welcomed every one. Review minutes from last month. Ms. Fortus made a motion that the minutes be accepted with changes. Ms. Marziani seconded. The minutes were accepted.

Treasurer’s Report

As of December we started with $5,839.44. $134.80 is an account for travel. In total there is $5,974.24.

Principal’s Report

Dr. Goricki

Dr. Goodwin represented the principal. Reports are coming out Jan. 24th. The interviews for the new Pre-k are finished and the recommendations have been submitted.

Feb 6-10th there will be a book fair where students will be able to get a free book if they have met their AR goals.

General Business

The Harlem Globe Trotters came to Sebastian for a fund raiser.

She presented the 2016- 2017 calendar.

Dr. Suess night will be March 2nd from 6- 7:30.

Celebrate literacy week will be at the end of this month. Students are going to encourage students to read and meet a goal in how many books are read during the week. There will be a bike raffle. There will be mystery readers and an author study.

The books that were delivered at Christmas time were a huge success. Students loved the books.

PTO Report

New Business.

Needs assessment survey from last year was presented for update. Mr. Brechtold made a motion that the assessments are approved. Dr. Goodwin seconded. The survey was approved.

The team worked together to create a criteria for requesting funds. We checked the request for funds worksheet.

Team members were requested to think about and review ideas about creating criteria for requesting money.

Dee Fortus requested money ($439.80) to purchase RAZ reading for the following year. Ms. Rodgers made a motion to approve the funds. Ms. Kolk seconded. The funding was approved.

Mr. Brechtold asked what was happening with the front field. Dr. Goodwin said the process is moving forward for repair. It was also mentioned that the sandbox needed cleaned.

The next meeting is Feb. 9th.

Celebrations, questions, concerns, closing

Ms. Lloyd made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. Ms. Marziani seconded. The meeting was ended.
