TRAFFIC ADVISORY

NAGAR KIRTAN ON THE OCCASION OF BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF

SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI ON 05.01.2014

A Nagar Kirtan on the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, organized by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, is taken out every year from Gurdwara RakabGanj Sahib. This year the procession will start at about 10.00 AM on 05.01.2014 from Gurudwara RakabGanj Sahib and is likely to terminate late in the evening at Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, Hari Nagar. The route of the procession will be as below:-

Gurudwara RakabGanj Sahib, Talkatora Road, Shankar Road, Rajender Nagar, Patel Nagar, Ranjeet Nagar, ShadiPur Depot, Moti Nagar, Najafgarh Road, Kirti Nagar, Ramesh Nagar, Raja Garden, Rajouri Garden, Subhash Nagar More, Tilak Nagar, Jail Road, Hari Nagar Depot, Clock Tower Hari Nagar, BeriWalaBagh and Guru Teg Bahadur Institute of Technology.

There is likelihood of slowing down and congestion of traffic along the route of procession. The areas likely to be affected are New Delhi, parts of Central Delhi and West Delhi. The Ring Road at Raja Garden is also likely to be affected. General public and motorists are advised to avoid the above mentioned routes, co-operate with and follow the directions of Traffic policemen posted all along the route of procession to avoid inconvenience.

Diversion of City Buses

The following Traffic diversions/route termination will be in force for the City Transport Buses/HGVs and LGVs during the movement of the procession.

6.  'C'-HEXAGON - ASHOKA ROAD

7.  AKBAR ROAD - 'C'-HEXAGON

8.  JANPATH - MAULANA AZAD ROAD

9.  R/A GOLE METHI

Depending upon the traffic situation buses will not be allowed to enter towards Connaught place beyond 11 Murti , R/A Talkatora Stadium , Park Street , Mandir Marg, Peshwa Road , Mandir Marg, D.BG Road, BhavBhuti Marg , DDU -Vivekanand Marg , Mandi House, ‘C’ –Hexagon , Maulana Azad Road , Sunhari Masjid , R/A Krishna Menon Marg –Dalhousie Road during the movement of the procession in New Delhi area.

Special instruction to general public

1.  The commuters going to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway station, and ISBT should leave in advance and have sufficient time for absorbing possible delays in routes.

2.  Avail public transport to help decongestion of roads.

3.  Park their vehicles only at designated parking lots and avoid roadside parking as it causes hindrance to normal flow of traffic.

4.  Before starting for place of visit people should check their vehicles against acts of mischief.

5.  In case any unusual/unidentified object or person is seen moving in suspicious circumstances it must be informed to Police Control Room.

The public is advised to make maximum use of public transport, especially Delhi Metro. Adequate traffic arrangements have been made to ensure proper movement of devotees and keep the general flow of traffic normal and smooth as far as possible.
