2016 Application Information
The University Of Michigan Club Of Los Angeles would like to congratulate you on your academic achievements! We would like to offer an opportunity for incoming and returning students registering for full-time classes at the University of Michigan in the Fall 2016 semester from Los Angeles County to apply for an Alumni Scholarship. We anticipate awarding the following scholarships this year:
- One $2,000 Scholarship (renewable)
- One $4000 Scholarship (nonrenewable)
- Two $2000 Scholarship (nonrenewable)
- Two $1000 Scholarships (nonrenewable)
These scholarships are intended to provide awards to students from the greater Los Angeles area who have demonstrated merit based on accomplishments, credentials, and academics.This scholarship is not renewable; however, you are encouraged to apply again in following years. The UM Club of Los Angeles Scholarship Committee is responsible for making this award.
Check that your application includes the following:
- Completed application.
- List of extracurricular activities.
- A copy of your high school transcript and your current U of M transcript (for returning students). Unofficial copies are acceptable.
- A copy of the responses to the short answer essay questions identified below. Please answer each question on a separate page, with the essay question identified at the top of the page.
Applications are due June 20, 2016.

- Explain your current or planned involvement in activities, clubs or community service at Michigan.
SECTION 6. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, AUTHORIZATION AND WAIVER
I understand that, if I receive a scholarship, my acceptance of that award obligates me to commence and complete each year of studies for which financial aid is granted by the University of Michigan Club of Los Angeles (hereby referred to as “the Club”), unless good cause for not doing so can be shown. I acknowledge that my eligibility for continued financial assistance is contingent upon my retaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average while enrolled full-time in classes taken at The University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus, and that I am obligated to provide the Club’s Scholarship Committee with a copy of my transcript after each semester to verify my continued eligibility. I understand that these scholarships are for undergraduate studies only, for fall and winter semesters only. I also authorize the Club to use my name and photograph to publicize its scholarship program, and to make reasonable efforts to contact me while I am in Ann Arbor to verify my continued eligibility for scholarship, and to publicize Club events. Finally, I understand that all decisions of the Club’s Scholarship Committee are final, and I waive any right to object to those decisions, or to bring any claim or cause of action against the Club or any of its members as a result of any action taken by the Committee or its members.
