MAHURANGI REGATTA 2014

Anniversary Weekend

Friday 24 to Monday 27 January 2014

The main regatta will be held on Saturday 25 January at Sullivans Bay. An entry form is attached for the regatta. We will take beach entries again at Sullivans Bay, or Scotts Landing in strong easterly conditions, 9am to 11.30 on Saturday but it would greatly assist if we could take as many entries as possible by post or email.

Please complete the form and send it to us: PO Box 555, Warkworth 0941

Sailing instructions and course details will be available from the tent at Sullivans Bay, 9 am to 12 noon. It will be necessary for entrants to collect these details from the tent as there may be last-minute changes. If anchoring or landing at Sullivans Bay is untenable in extreme easterly conditions, entries will be taken and the regatta will be run from Scotts Landing.

All those holding trophies please return them to Steve – phone 027 2807497 or (09) 423 8704 – email: .

GENERAL INFORMATION

We’ve had some comments over recent years concerning several anomalies to place names and the like. On NZ Maritime charts some place names do not appear. Sullivans Bay where most of the activities are held is marked as Ōtarawao Bay. Nor is Scotts Landing where the prize giving and marquee and band are held after the regatta. It is situated upriver just north of Casnell Island, recognisable by an old homestead (Scott Homestead) on the beachfront.

Pontoon Wharf – Scotts Landing. The wharf is accessible only at high.

Fresh Water – Water is available from a new wharf at the south entrance to the Pukapuka Inlet. High-water access only.

Parking at Scotts Landing. This is very limited and we recommend you make use of the free shuttle bus on the Saturday evening. Parking will be signposted and the service is gold coin donation. Cars may be towed if they are parked on the dirt road. Access must be kept clear for the shuttle bus and St John ambulance.

Toilets. Porta Loo’s are positioned behind the marquee.

Rubbish. Please be considerate and take your rubbish with you. There are no rubbish bins available.

MAHURANGI YEARBOOK – ONLY $15

The new Yearbook looks fantastic – Lyn Bergquist does a great job as producer and keeps up a fine tradition. The Jane Gifford, our flagship, will be at the 2014 regatta as start/finish boat.
