Club Chartering Forms / 2013-2014

Dear Prospective Applicants,

ONLINE APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY THURSDAY, AUGUST 22nd at 11:59 P.M. to STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT, ANTHONY MARQUEZ (). When submitting the application, please include your Club Advisor in the email.

Thank you for your interest in club chartering for the 2013-2014 school year. Student Council-chartered clubs are vital components on campus; without them, life at IMSA simply would not be the same. From enriching our perspectives to providing internal and external opportunities, clubs have a major impact on both our community as well as the surrounding communities.

Student Council’s duty is to ensure that qualified and effective clubs are afforded the opportunity and resources to make a positive impact. It is crucial that Student Council upholds chartered clubs to a standard of fulfilling their responsibilities and actively participating within the IMSA community. Thus, Student Council will monitor clubs and activities throughout the year to keep all chartered clubs accountable.

Student Council will be requiring all chartered clubs to submit semester reports outlining their meetings, events, and general activity over a semester. Additionally, clubs not performing adequately may be put on a “watch-list.” Clubs placed on “watch-list” status will be required to submit quarterly reports on their progress, which includes but is not limited to: meetings, events, and overall presence on campus. Student Council reserves the right at all times to revoke the charter of any club that it finds inactive or failing to fulfill its responsibilities.

Furthermore, in an effort to maximize the efficiency of not only clubs but the students as well, Student Council is limiting each individual to a maximum of two chartered-club presidencies. Also, all club presidents are held to an academic eligibility standard of no failing grades after first quarter. Otherwise, the president may be removed indefinitely. Student Council reserves the right to modify and adjust the club chartering procedures and policies.

Thank you for your initiative and dedication, and we look forward to reading your application. Decisions for Club Chartering will be announced August 26th.

Sincerely,

Student Council
