8th Annual Ben Hinger Memorial Golf Scramble: Echo Hills Golf Course: 7-26-2014, 9am
On August 3, 2005 our good friend Ben Hinger, suddenly passed away from undetected heart disease at the age of 28. In his memory, we have established an annual memorial golf scramble held at the Greenville Country Club to raise money in his name for the American Heart Association. Ben was an avid golfer and after obtaining his degree from Ohio State worked at the Greenville Country Club for several years as a greens keeper. Our goal for this scramble is to raise money to help the American Heart Association grow the awareness of heart disease and to help detect and prevent heart disease. Ultimately, our goal is to help the American Heart Association prevent another group of friends & family from experiencing the loss of a loved one such as Ben.
This year will be the eight year for Ben’s memorial scramble and will be held at the Echo Hills Golf Course (Piqua, OH)on July 26th with a 9:00am shotgun start. We are proud to say we have raised over $28,000.00 in 7 years for the American Heart association in Ben’s name! We have been able to successfully raise this money thanks to all the generous donations we have received from all of our sponsors and golfers. The web-site includes a link to Ben’s American Heart Association page, along with all our tournament winners and a lot of great photos from the first 3 years of the scramble itself.
Hole sponsorships are $100 per hole with $75 of that amount going directly to the American Heart Association and the remaining $25 going towards golfer door prizes and winning team prizes. Every hole sponsor will be listed on our “Sponsor Board” displayed where all golfers check in as well as have a sponsor sign displayed in front of a randomly picked hole throughout the scramble. Each sponsor will also be listed in our program we hand to each golfer prior to tee off, and will be displayed on our website.
We are always looking for additional teams to play in the scramble and enjoy the festivities. We have contest holes, plenty of door prizes, a great post scramble dinner and lots of fun. Please let us know if you are interested in playing and we will get you the sign up info.
