This holiday season millions of Americans will be cooking – or eating – a special feast with family and friends. To support these home cooks in getting a safe and healthy meal on the table, PFSE hopes you will join us in reminding consumers of important home food safety basics!
The Story of Your Dinner features many elements that you can use to connect with your friends and followers. These include an animated video showing the journey your food takes from farm to table, educational placemats, festive holiday recipes with food safe preparation instructions, a “Hand in Health” consumer sweepstakes and food safe tips from PFSE and partner brands.
Spread the word about home safe food handling practices this holiday season!
Social Media Tips:
- Share ‘The Story of Your Dinner’ graphicson your organization’s social media channels and encourage consumers to visit the website for recipes, holiday food safety resources and other information.
- Share PFSE’s messages in one of two ways:
- Copy and paste the suggested posts from the Social Media Calendar with the accompanying image or video.
- You can customize the text to fit your brand and content strategy, but always use the specified image and hashtag #StoryofYourDinner.
2.Share or re-post PFSE’s posts from Facebook and/or Twitter.
- In addition to Facebook and Twitter, you can also use this content for other social channels such as Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, Snapchat, Vine, LinkedIn,and any other channel you use.
- Always use the hashtag #StoryofYourDinner to unify our messages and help track conversations.
- Best times for posting:
- Facebook: Thursdays and Fridays, between 1:00 p.m. and 3 p.m. (afternoons are best).
- Twitter: Wednesday through Sunday, between 12:00 p.m. and 5 p.m. (lunchtime is best).
- Pinterest: Thursdays and Saturdays, between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. (evenings are best).
- Instagram: Weekdays, between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. (off work hours are best).
- Not all of your Facebook page followers will see each of your Facebook posts. You may also consider paying Facebook a small fee to “boost” select posts to ensure they attract more viewers:
