Program Rationale and Philosophy
The aim of the K – 12 P. E. program is to enable individuals to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to lead an active, healthy lifestyle. The P. E. program emphasizes active living, with a focus on physical activity that is valued and integrated into daily life. Some of the reasons why students need P. E. on a regular basis include health, active lifestyle, skill development, positive interactions, self-confidence and self-esteem, goal setting, economics and academic achievement.
Dress Requirements
Proper gym strip must be worn for every class. This includes an appropriate t-shirt, sweats or shorts and non-marking running shoes. Students must come to P. E. class changed. This means the student has changed out of school clothes into proper gym strip. Failure to comply with the above will result in the student losing their participation mark for that P. E. class. However, he / she will still be required to participate in the class.
Class Regulations and Expectations
1.Students are expected to be changed prior to class starting and to come prepared to participate.
