Executive Committee Report – March 2004

  1. Congratulations to Paul Doran on his appointment as Assistant Bar Manager to fill the vacancy left by Peter Fitzpatrick. We wish him the best in his new position. The vacant position of Barman will not be filled.
  1. Ballycullen – At last some progress. A decision to grant planning permission was made by South Dublin County Council on 5th February 2004, subject to conditions. However, we understand that an appeal has been made to An Bord Pleanála against the Council’s decision. The Board has 6 months to make a decision.
  1. Sancta Maria pitches – On advice from our Engineer, we have applied for planning permission for the various works in connection with the proposed pitches. A decision will be made soon on the successful tender for the work. We must wait the outcome of our application for lottery funding before any works will commence.
  1. Refurbishment of the bar – Prices are being obtained and we hope to have further information soon.
  1. A Night At The Dogs – A very successful night. Thanks for your support and that of the Social and Lotto Committees for their work on the night.
  1. Poker Classic – This has been organised for Saturday 8th May. There will be a limited number of players. If you are interested please give your name to Noel Browne or Ned Slattery as soon as possible.
  1. Membership – Membersare asked to pay their subscriptions as soon as possible. Players are reminded that they should also contribute to the Club Supplementary Player Injury Scheme, which, at €35 for adults and €15 for juveniles, is good value.
  1. Medal presentations – We still hope that Padraig Harrington will be able to present the medals. We should know in the next week or two whether he can do it. If he is not available, we will proceed to arrange a presentation night for all adult teams who have won league or championship medals.
  1. Shop – A list of goods and prices will be available soon on our website –
  1. Physiotherapy - Paulette Kilkenny, Chartered Physiotherapist, has taken over from Sharon Molloy as Club physiotherapist. We wish her the best and we also thank Sharon for her dedicated service over the last few years. If a player needs treatment, he/she must first get approval from the relevant team manager.
  1. Anne Devlin Commemoration – The Club contributed to the cost of erecting the memorial unveiled on 4 March 2004 in Rathfarnham village in memory of Anne Devlin.
  1. We would like to welcome all the new players who have joined us at the various grades and codes. We hope you have a pleasant and successful time with us.
