A RESOLUTION memorializing Rosemary Pace.
WHEREAS, Rosemary Pace has been a longtime resident of the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary Pace dedicated her career to education, teaching home economics at Bethel College, and teaching at Fort Campbell Independent Schools; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary Pace dedicated her life to civic activities, serving on the board of the Senior Citizens Center, the Christian County Retired Teachers Association, the Christian County Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Christian County Homemakers Association, the Christian County Extension Council, and the Farm Bureau, among innumerable other boards and clubs, and
WHEREAS, in addition to her active civic activities, Rosemary Pace dedicated herself to the Salem Baptist Church, serving God and her church members since 1944; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary Pace further distinguished herself through the founding of the Family Career and Community Leaders (FHA) Rosemary M. Pace Region II Scholarship Fund, and through her receipt of the Sharing is Caring Award from the Volunteer Action Center, the Christian County Outstanding 4-H Alumni Award, the Outstanding Kentucky 4-H Alumni Award, and the Kentucky Farm Bureau Gold Star Award; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary Pace was the loving wife of her first husband Abner Lewis Burke, and her second husband, R.E. Pace, Sr.; she was the loving mother of Sam L. Burke and Janet Burke Allen; she was the loving grandmother of three grandchildren; and she was the loving great-grandmother of five great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary Pace died on March 5, 2003;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby recognize Rosemary Pace for her outstanding contributions to the citizens of Christian County, as well as to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky through her tireless and diverse service to the community.
Section 2. The Senate does hereby hold Rosemary Pace as an example of civic dedication for all the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and declares that when the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Rosemary Pace.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit two copies of this Resolution to Mr. Samuel L. Burke, 206 Remington Road, Hopkinsville, Kentucky 42240-4851.
