President’s report / · Welcome & introductions
· Meetings are usually the 1st Thursday in each month, no meeting in December
· October 6th is the next meeting
Principal’s Report: / · Couldn’t be at meeting, but provided the following:
o ERLA being started in 2nd & 3rd grades
o HVAC almost completed, new blinds, stumps removed from courtyard. Last birch tree died, but a new one will be planted in its place
Board of Education Report / · Most of BW is done with HVAC system installation
· Libraries are all being redone; BW is slated to be done over October breaks
· Water testing update – state is reimbursing for testing
· New website, more user friendly; mobile app coming soon; curriculum corner by Ms. Storts, letter from Superintendent
Teacher’s Report: / · New year is off to a great start
· 100% PTA membership from teachers
· Great feedback from teachers on Spirit Wear
Committee Reports:

Box Tops: / · Both box tops & labels for education are collected; Box tops are sent in for money; Labels can be used to purchase items from the Campbell’s catalog
Family Events: / · Flapjack breakfast at Applebee’s on Oct. 1st
Kindergarten Social / · Will be held on Oct. 21st from 6:30-7:30pm
· In the process of putting together game stations for the kids
· Girl Scouts will help out with the stations
Membership / · Make sure PTA membership form is legible
· $25 prize for the class with the most membership
Plant Sale / · Mums orders are due on Tuesday (Sept 20), $5.50 per plant
· Receive a certificate and then go to Hamilton Farms to pick out your mums
Spirit Wear / · Must be ordered online (Elaine’s Cheer Gear), on sale until Sept. 26th
Field Day / · June 6th, rain date Thurs June 8th
Ways and Means / · Need volunteers to chair the following committees: Author Day (choose an author, coordinate books orders), Book Fair – one in Nov and one in April; Community Service (pasta for pennies, food drives, clothing drive, 100 days of school); Wellness committee; Holiday Gift shop (co-chair this year, chair next year); Ways and Means
5th Grade / · Mini Olympics, yearbook, Frog Falls, etc. – will need a committee
