Exploringthe Halls of Research

In the past, teaching research is a tremendous effort both for teacher and students since it means the combination what a student learned from their term paper work in Basic English and basic Statistics. However, with the rich cache of online resources, the landscape of teaching research must have shifted greatly. The phase of teaching through every aspect of the research can be modified towards a more self-paced discovery by the learners. This activity will introduce you to your many inquiries towards learning how to develop your proficiency in doing research.

  1. Browse the internet by choosing your browser but the most recommended is either Chrome or Mozilla.
  2. On the search bar, type and you will meet the page shown on the screenshoot.
  1. Click the button “Join for Free” to start your membership.
  1. But for quick membership, you can log using your facebook account. (Using the facebook is the best alternative if the school has no domain for student email)

  1. There will be three categories of Researchgate users. As academic researcher, as corporate researcher, and as independent researcher. As student of research methodology, you will be considered as academic researcher.
  1. Clicking on the “Academic researcher” will lead you to the next page which is the start of your registration profile. Your institution is Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology. When you place the cursor on the Department, a pull down menu will appear and you choose Department of Science and Mathematics Education.
  1. After choosing your department, you click “Continue” located below the Department. This will lead you to another page for your name (first and last name), institution email, and password. Your institution email is the one you used in your myIIT account in the format .

  1. Complete your registration process until you reach the welcome message from .
  1. When you login, go back to the first screenshoot posted in this activity. Click the login. Use your institution email.
  1. ALWAYS be cautious especially if you are not using your own facility and you are using public internet café or even the university facility. Be sure the button on “Keep me logged” is NOT TICKED!!!!.

  1. You are now ready to start your exploration.
