Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

There are up to two volunteer photographer opportunities available. One would be stationed at the Girls Courts and one would be stationed at the Boys Courts. If two photographer volunteers aren’t available, then one will travel between the two court locations.
The following are the duties of the volunteer photographer.
  1. Have players sign a Photo Release form at the “Photograph/Photo Release” Check-in A frame.
  2. Take digital photos of each registered player at the beginning of the event during the check-in process at the “Photograph/Photo Release” A-frame AND note their name for each player photo.
  3. Take some action photos of players playing during match play throughout the tournament.
  4. Take photos of the volunteer staff working, photos of the Check-in tables, photos of the 1st Aid/Water/Refreshments tables.
  5. Take photos of the fans and parents watching the tennis action.
  6. Do your best to get photos of the 1st and 2nd place winners in each age category, with their trophy’s and medals. You are also encouraged to take photos of the Consolation winners and runner-ups.
  7. Be observant and if you notice a player displaying excellent sportsmanship qualities, please consider nominating them for a USTA Sportsmanship Award.
  8. Provide the Tournament Director (TD) a CD or Thumb Drive of the photos with the players names for the respective photos you took at the Check-in table as well as the Winners/Runner-ups/and Consolation photos. This is due to the TD within 1 week of the conclusion of the event.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Must enjoy photography and have experience in taking photos and organizing them.

Preferred Skills

Have an “eye” for what makes a good photo. Have the proper equipment to do the job. Able to organize photos and people’s names in relation to the photo. Able to effectively communicate with your photo subjects.
