20DAWN PATROL SNOOKER LEAGUE RULES –2016/17

1.The competition is on a league basis with each team playing the opposition once.

2.All league matches are over 3 frames.

3.One point for each frame won.

  1. Handicaps are specified individually and the team handicap is the total of both players. The start for the higher handicap team is the difference between the team totals, up to a maximum of 24 points.
  2. Target dates for matches to be played are indicated in the table below, and all league matches must be completed by Friday 10th. March 2017. (Matches can always be played earlier to help things move along.)
    The positions in each league on the completion date will be taken as the final positions qualifying for the knock out stage (NO EXCUSES).

  1. The winners (highest points total) and runners up of each division qualify for the knock-out stage. In addition the best 2 of the third place finishers in each division will also qualify for the Knock Out stage. This will be decided on points scored. Winners of each division are seeded for the quarter finals and matches are as in the table below.
  2. Throughout the season each team should record their highest break. This will be used as a “tie-breaker” as detailed in Rule 8.
  3. In the event of a tie in any division, or for the third places, qualification for the knock-out stage will be decided by the number of matches won and if it is still even by the highest break achieved in the league stage. If it is still even then the positions will be decided by the result in the match between the tied teams.

  1. Semi final pairings will be drawn with the first team out of the hat having choice of venue. Semi-finals are over 3 frames.

10.The final will be over 5 frames and will be played on Jim Smith’s table.

11.Prizes will be awarded to the losing semi-finalists, losing finalists and the champions who will also receive the Dawn Patrol Snooker League Cup to be held for one year. It is the winner’s responsibility to have the cup engraved.

12.Entry fee £6 per head, £12 per team.

VENUES

‘#’ Identifies players with full size private tables. Division 1 matches can be played at Jim Smith’s house, Division 2 at Neil Hufton’s house, by prior arrangement. Division 3 matches can be played at Barratts Snooker Club in Kingsthorpe, any club a player has access to, or a member’s table by arrangement.
