Where the work is taking place

This sewer improvement scheme involves laying 600m of new pipe through the fields to the east of Kirby Bellars, from the A607 to the south side of the Midland Main Line.We shall connect it to an existing manhole adjacent to the railway, and to the existing pumping main in the A607, and abandon the redundant length of pumping main along the A607 to main Street.

How we will keep disruption to a minimum

The construction of new sewers can be disruptive, however, we will do all we can to minimise disruption to our customers:

•We shall use trenchless methods to lay the new pipe for the diverted pumping main, which is quicker than normal trench excavation methods and will reduce disruption to our customers, and the land it is crossing

•We are working closelywith Natural England, Leicester County Council and private landowners to develop the most effective solution, with minimal or no impact on the natural landscape.
