Helped Punjabi University to earn the distinction of being first in region:
(i)To evolve research faculty in the Department of Mass Communication, facilitating award of Ph.D. Degree
(ii)To start regular PG Diploma in Audio- Visual Production,B.Tech. TV, Film Production & Media Technology; B.A. (hons.) in Journalism, Mass Communication and Media Technology; and Certificate Courses in Videography; and Videoediting.
(iii)To sign MoU with Wilkes University, Pennsylvania, USA for B.Tech. and B.A. courses
(iv)To establish first in the region a fully-equippedstate-of-the-art TV & Film Studio in the Department
(v)To initiate the project of developing a monumental Media Centre on PU Campus.
(vi)To streamline the functioning ofEMMRC, Punjabi University as its Director with regard to producing programmes for the CEC-UGC Country Wide Classroom programmes.
(vii)To launch Online News Bulletin of the University
