The women’s forum of the Connecticut Association of Health Care Executives (CTAHE) is seeking candidates for our 2016annual scholarship award. The purpose of the grant is to recognize a deserving undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates a commitment to a career in healthcare management. Students enrolled in accredited certificate programs that will further their careers in healthcare management are also eligible for the scholarship. The committee will be awarding up to two scholarships of $1,500 along with a membership to ACHE. The committee will also award up to three memberships to ACHE for notable mentions.

The women’s forum, a nonprofit association for the professional development of women in healthcare management, began in 1981. The purpose of the organization is to promote the growth of women in healthcare professions, foster mutual support, professional development, and provide educational and networking opportunities. In 2010, the group formally merged into the CT Association of Health Care Executives as a committee. This scholarship award will be provided by the woman’s forum and thus one of the scholarships is dedicated to a woman pursuing a career goal in executive health care management.

Candidates for the scholarship must be presently enrolled and matriculated in an accredited degree program or certificate program with their studies focused on a health-related subject, management or healthcare administration. All application materials must be received by March 31st, 2016 and the selection will be made by the Scholarship Committee by May 30th, 2016.

Recipients of the scholarship will be required to attend at least two CTAHE events during the year. The recipients will also be required to attend one women’s forum meeting to report out on their activities over the year and how the scholarship funds helped them achieve their goals.
