President’s Strategic Plan

Greetings!

I was honored to serve our Massachusetts members as President of the Massachusetts Health Information Management Association (MaHIMA) during 2016-2016.

We have some notable achievements this past year which included but not limited to the following:

Continued working with the member at large on Information Governance

Developed a succession planning model for those Board members who have served but would like to mentor and train a successor

Inventoried the archives to determine where we would like to place the items in the future i.e. AHIMA ,MaHIMA

Hired a firm to conduct an audit on our financials

Updated the MedicoLegal Guide to Health Record Information

Continue to update MaHIMA website

Continued to work with schools including vocational schools to educate students of the value of the profession.

I am confident that the incoming President, Diana Lindo, will continue the progress we have made over the past year and further strengthen our mission to promote professional growth, competence and life-long learning, to influence governmental, educational, social and business issues which affect the management and use of health information, to contribute to the quality and efficiency of health information systems and structures and to promote synergy and alignment among disciplines which manage and support health information.

Specifically, the incoming President’sStrategic Plan for 2017-2018 is as follows:

I thank AHIMA and MaHIMA for their support and constant drive to push its members to be the best we can be within our profession. It was an honor to serve and I look forward to supporting Diana as she furthers the progress of our Association.
