Job Title: Report Writer and Data Analyst

Job Status: Exempt
Job Grade: 23

Manager Title: Information Systems Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

This professional position will be the key person to design, develop, and interpret reports for various departments in the organization. The incumbent will be required to have a complete understanding of the electronic health record (EHR)system as well as other existing and future third party software to successfully produce conclusive and accurate data.The position requires constantcommunication with different staff levels within the organization and also with any affiliated agencies in order to present and explaindata findings. The Report Writer and Data Analystposition will report directly to the Information Systems Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Accountable for demonstrating the qualities outlined in the “Customer Service Standards of Excellence” program when interacting with patients, their families and friends, and fellow employees.
  2. Primary person for organizational report writing.
  3. Design, develop, and interpret complex customized reports for existing and new applications.
  4. Validate data on developed reports.
  5. Present the report findings to different staff members through excellent oral and written communication.
  6. Clearly document methodology of written reports for future use by others.
  7. Knowledgeable in various departments’ workflows and data entry practices to identify how reports will be affected.
  8. Consistently communicate with management to fully understand report requests.
  9. Master the EHR system and all other third party report writing software.
  10. Ensure ongoing maintenance and modification of reporting projectsas required.
  11. Oversee the implementation and use of new reporting software.
  12. Run Month End reports for various departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous report writing work
  • Data analysis proficiency
  • Relational database expertise
  • MS SQL Management Studio, Access, Excel
  • Crystal Reports or other report writing software

Knowledge of:

  • Electronic Health Records
  • MS Office Suite

Ability to:

  • Work under stressful situations
  • Effectively work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Identify inconsistencies with data produced from reports
  • Provide reports on short notice
  • Communicate efficiently with all levels of staff
  • Work weekends and/or evenings

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

Any combination of Education, Experience and Training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Education:

  • Minimum Associates Degree required however Bachelor’s Degree preferred with concentration in Healthcare Informatics, Database Management Systems, Information Systems, or similar

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years developing reports (Preferably in healthcare setting)
  • Data Analytics
  • Report writing software
