Coordinating Instructions

Congratulations on your selection for Combat Instructor School. Expect a challenging and rewarding experience during your course of instruction. You will receive training to refresh your knowledge on 1000 level skills, but more importantly, you will be instructed on how to deliver that information to an entry-level Marine. The tools that Combat Instructor School provides will aide you in completing a successful 36 months at School of Infantry-East. Please take note of the below instructions and adhere to all that is required of you.

  1. Check in will be on the class REPORT DATE from 0700-1600 in Room 226 of Building G644 on Camp Geiger, NC. You will check in in Alphas and you must have your original orders, command screening checklist, and medical record. Bring PT gear for height and weight.Notify the Combat Instructor staff if you will be late.
  2. You will experience a rigorous physical fitness program and therefore must have a minimum of a 2nd class PFT/CFT in accordance with the command screening checklist.
  3. A complete physical must be performed prior to check-in and you must be in a full duty status to attend this school.
  4. Marines in the local area will PCA to SOI-E and must have a TR Fitness Report completed. Marines from outside the local area will check in TAD (TD) if married and PCS (TR) if single.
  5. The Command Screen Checklist (CSC) must be completed and signed. The recertification must be completed in accordance with the CSC.
  6. Students must have the required amount of obligated time remaining on contract (36 months from MCIC grad date).
  7. Uniform of the Day will be Woodland MARPAT utilities and must be serviceable with appropriate nametapes.
  8. All studentswith orders to SOI-E will turn in IIF issued gear at their local IIF.All CIS students will receive an issue at the Camp Geiger location.
  9. You will be required to have all service uniforms for your tour at SOI-E. You will spend time in the field; ensure you have the appropriate amount of uniform items (boots, T-shirts, socks etc.) A glow belt will be required to be worn every morning.
  10. Billeting: All single Sergeants and below will be billeted in the barracks. Single Sergeants and below do not rate BAH at SOI-E. Staff Noncommissioned Officers will be billeted at the All Points Inn aboard Camp Geiger. Phone: (910)449-0435. Space is limited so plan ahead. Contact Combat Instructor School if there are no rooms available. DO NOT GET LODGING IN TOWN.
  11. While attending Combat Instructor School, you will be certified to become an OIC/RSO through Camp Lejeune Range Control. You must complete the Range Safety and Range Laser Safety MarineNet courses.
  12. Have all annual training requirements (Rifle Range, MarineNet, etc) completed prior to check-in day. You will not have time during the Program of Instruction.
