College of Alameda is conducting a self study in preparation for a visit from the accreditation agency (ACCJC) in March 2009.We are providing the following presentations to get your input and feedback in this very important process. Following the schedule is a description of what subject area each presentation will address. We would be delighted to have you attend.

Standard I A: Mission: This section describes the processes by which the directional statements of the college were created.

Standard I B: Improving Institutional Effectiveness: This section details the ways in which the college has begun to more effectively organize its key planning processes, and provides evidence of achievement of its goals in student learning through its instructional programs and services.

Standard II A: Instructional Programs: This section deals with instruction, programs, program review, degrees and certificates, and student learning outcomes.

Standard II B: Student Support Services: This section deals with programs and services that contribute to student success.

Standard II C: Library and Learning Support Services: This section deals with library and audio-visual resources, and the learning resources center.

Standard III:

This standard (which includes sections A-D) reflects the successful integration of the college’s planning efforts for resources with those of the district planning processes. Since the last accreditation report, the college has attempted to coordinate its institutional needs (e.g. Human Resources, Facilities, Financial, and Technology) through strategic planning, emphasizing transparency of policies and procedures in college service centers. Also reflected here is a discussion of integrated resource planning initiated by the college and consequently fulfilled by district service centers.

Standard IV A: Decision-Making and Processes: This section deals with campus leadership and shared governance.
