ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)

This is responsible administrative work planning, directing and coordinating the statewide review, analysis, and evaluation of information contained in case records for accuracy, completeness and content. The employee(s) in position(s) allocated to this class exercise(s) independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures which have significant impact in personnel administration and/or preparation and administration of budgets.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Plans, directs and coordinates the work of a staff conducting quality control review statewide.
  • Assists in developing quality control policies and procedures relating to specific program areas.
  • Develops and issues policies on quality improvement and related instructions within the scope of state and federal policies and regulations.
  • Directs and coordinates the monthly quality control sample selection process, tabulation of findings, and preparation of statistical tables, summaries and analyses of findings.
  • Develops and implements methods of interpreting quality control data for use in areas of policy development, training, program planning and monitoring.
  • Applies and interprets program policies to individual case reviews.
  • Acts as liaison with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare and Agriculture on state quality control operations, federal monitoring and findings of the quality control review systems.
  • Coordinates special review assignments as required by the department.
  • Participates in the analysis of findings for groups of error cases and in the preparation of reports in planning and implementing corrective action to improve the administration of the programs.
  • Participates in meetings held with appropriate program office and district program staff in planning steps required to implement and evaluate corrective action.
  • Consults with federal staff on quality control requirements, state equality control operations and federal monitoring of review systems.
  • Performs other related work as required.
