Novel projects

Choose ONE of the following projects and complete:

1. Write a letter to a friend, describing this novel you are about to send to him. Be sure to describe main characters, plot, main events etc….as well as your opinion of the novel. Make sure to use proper letter format. Minimum 5 paragraphs long, and be sure to use the traits we have learned about in class. Good copy should be double spaced, written in Times New Roman, and 12 font.

2. Design a new cover for your book.On Bristol board, draw the new cover on one half and write the detailed summary on the other half. Remember, this summary should ‘hook’ your readers and should give a good indication of what to expect in the novel without giving away the ending.

3. Design a scrapbook of the novel. Minimum 10 pages. On each page, describe the items used in the scrapbook and how they relate to the novel. Be creative!

4. Take pictures of items that occurred in the novel. Print them out and place them in an album or binder. Under each picture, in detail describe how the picture relates to the novel. Minimum 10 pictures.

5. Draw a portrait of your favourite character on one half of a Bristol board. On the other side, give a detailed summary of your character. Include their physical characteristics as well as their personality traits, how the character’s ideas, thoughts and personality has changed throughout the novel as well as any other information necessary to get a full understanding of that character.

All projects will be given a mark out of 30.
