Choir Extra-Curricular Commitment Letter and Schedules

CHOIR EXTRA-CURRICULAR COMMITMENT LETTER AND SCHEDULES

Congratulations for being selected to next year’s Madrigals and Vocal Jazz groups! Here is the basic schedule for next school year (2017-2018):

JV. MADRIGALS-Meets Tues(change!)., Wed. and Fri. Starting Tues. Aug. 15th from 1:20-3:15pm. Mid-Aug. through mid-Dec. after school from 3:05-4:15pm.

Some required dates to mark: Sept. 15-Choir Blast-off! 5-9pm; Sept. 21-Talent Show; Oct. 5-Fall Concert 7pm; Nov. 10-ISU Madrigal Festival; Dec. 5-Winter Concert 7pm; Dec. 8-Madr. Dinner D. Reh.; Sat. Dec. 9/Sun. Dec. 10-Madrigal Dinner 6:30/1:00pm.

VARSITY MADRIGALS-Will meet starting Tues. Aug. 15th from 1:20-3:30pm. From Mid-Aug. to mid-Dec.. the group will meet on each Tues., Thurs. and Fridays from 3:05-4:30pm (some Thurs. off in Sept. and Oct.). Madrigal script practices will begin on various days starting in November. Some required dates to mark: Sept. 15-Choir Blast-off! 5-9pm; Sept. 21-Talent Show; Oct. 5-Fall Concert 7pm; Nov. 10-ISU Madrigal Festival; Dec. 5-Winter Concert 7pm; Dec. 8-Madr. Dinner D. Reh.; Sat. Dec. 9/Sun. Dec. 10-Madrigal Dinner 6:30/1:00pm.

Mar. 3 -Solo & Ensemble Contest

JAZZ TRANSIT-From Jan.-Feb. meets Tues. and Wed. after school starting Tues.Jan. 9th from 3:05-4:15pm; From end of Mar.-mid May the group meets Tues. and Wed.and occasional Fridays after school from 3:05-4:15 or 4:30pm. Some time will be taken off during March during musical. Some required dates to mark down: Feb. 15-MidWinter Concert; Feb. 17-Millikin Vocal Jazz Festival; Mar. 3-Sr. Citizen Prom; Apr. 20-Night of Entertainment; May 8-Spring Concert

ESSENCE-Starting on Mon. Jan. 8thto Mid-Maythis group will meet on each Tues., Thurs. and Fridays from 3:05-4:30pm. Some time will be taken off during March during musical. Some required dates to mark down: Feb. 15-MidWinter Concert; Feb. 17-Millikin Vocal Jazz Festival; Mar. 3-Sr. Citizen Prom; Apr. 20-Night of Entertainment; May 8-Spring Concert

A contract with greater details of expectations and rules will be handed out in August when the year begins. Please know that only 3 or 4 absences are allowed during each season and that these performances and practices are required for the groups to have success during the year. Please tear off and sign the bottom portion of this letter confirming your commitment to the groups and your understanding of the practice schedule and other dates and drop it off next week in Choir or at Central Campus by Friday May 26th, or scan it back to me at . by Wednesday, May 31.
